Dirty Laundry - Short Film

"I wanted to make a fan film for a character I've always loved and believed in - a love letter to Frank Castle & his fans. It was an incredible experience with everyone on the project throwing in their time just for the fun of it. It's been a blast to be a part of from start to finish -- we hope the friends of Frank enjoy watching it as much as we did making it." -- Thomas Jane

We now forgive you for the Punisher film you were in. Well done!

Special thanks to The Cinema Sluts for bringing it to our attention.

I easily see this as becoming vastly popular in a matter of hours/days. And aside from how much this appeals to the Mtn. Dew fueled fanboy in me, I still have to voice my issues/thoughts about it. These did not demean the entertainment factor of this, but they screamed in my head nonetheless:

•The inaction of preventing the rape.
•The gang being composed of one white guy & the rest people of color & labeled “savages” by the clerk.
•The “Sage” in this being a “broken” veteran.
•What pushes Frank to finally act? The words of the crippled Sage or is he just biding his time?

These are merely initial reflections & I’m putting them out there ‘cause I feel it’s important & should foster discussion. Film is an art form, and can also be a vehicle of social commentary. And while this easily teaters on that precipitous edge of “Y” chromosome-driven entertainment, I think it also allots us a chance to discuss things. So…discuss please.

This is by no means a flawless short, I agree. However, the entertainment value and overall quality of the film vastly outdoes anything that Thomas Jane's original Punisher feature did/tried to do.

I was also specifically really bothered by the inaction to the rape. That's one thing that should have been changed/altered to just a beating or something that could be justified as to him either needing to crack because of what he sees or him waiting until they are all in a group for an efficient attack.
