Will Alice in Wonderland Be Worth Going Down The Rabbithole?

Alice in Wonderland

Tim Burton's rendition of Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland" comes to theaters in March 2010, duh. You probably know that unless you where hiding under a mushroom(or taking one). Anyways, why do a lookout for a movie we are all aware and likely to see? Because what seemed to be a sure thing to have Burton direct the famous allegorical kids' tale now has a cloud of doubt with some recent uninspired efforts like "Sweeney Todd" and "Charlie and The Chocolate Factory". Yes, those movies sucked.

Bitter Balcony holds reservation with this new vision of "Alice", sharing the heavily licked jumbo lollipop visual similarities to "Chocolate Factory". Plus, isn't the once grand pairing of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp lost it's appeal? It feels like Burton gets the same from Depp in every movie, just wear powder in your face and move your hands around like a air balloon dummy and cut! From what we get from the trailers, Depp's Mad Hatter is Willy F#*%ing Wonka with green hair.

Like DeNiro-Scorcese, perhaps a long break would refresh this once invogorating duo. Anyways, with "Alice in Wonderland" we hope to be proven wrong, but we wouldn't bet our golden ticket on it.

Correction: Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter is Willy F#*%ing Wonka with RED hair. -JR

I consider myself a Burton fan, but Burton+remakes=sucks plain and simple.

The man takes the most important parts out of the original and screws them up royally. This will be featured in a future BB article.

i'd say mr. burton has his own angles on a lot of things but once again, his name is not a gold-turning magic spell. funky colours and odd makeups can only carry you for so long, at the end of the day you need depth to your movies, more than just colour.

i wouldn't be holding my breath for it though. chance is it will turn into another chocolate factory movie with all color and no flavour. just in case.
